Luxury, light apartment in former medical bandage factory

Ruland Architects designs a remarkable, light and spacious interior

For a casco apartment in the former bandage factory at the Weesperzijde in Amsterdam, Ruland Architects has designed a striking, light and spacious interior.

This special apartment with a spacious view of the Amstel is located on the 3rd and 4th floors of the casco building built by Hund Falk architects on the existing building.

On the 3rd floor you will find the central entrance of the apartment, the sleeping and bathrooms and the service room. A robust steel staircase connects the entrance hall with the living room.

The entire 4th floor is living space with an open kitchen. This kitchen was fully custom designed to the specific wishes of the client.

Due to the newly fitted centrally located roof light, the daylight penetrates deep into the house and creates a bright and spacious entrance hall. The spacious roof terrace is adjacent to the living area.

The finishing touches of the various rooms are deliberately tastefully simple and industrially chosen. Special attention has been paid to detailing and everything is high end in materialization.
